Meet the Bradfords
For the Bradford family, the Fragile X Walk for Chance
is deeply personal.
Their grandson, Chance, has Fragile X syndrome, and through him their family has learned so much about resilience, patience, advocacy, love, and the importance of celebrating every milestone. But their experience has also shown them how important it is for families to have people around them who understand. That is what inspired the Bradfords to create this walk.
They wanted to take something deeply personal to their family and turn it into something that could bring people together — creating greater awareness of Fragile X while helping other families feel seen, supported, and less alone.
“We wanted to turn our family’s experience into an opportunity to help other families feel seen, supported, and less alone.”
For the Bradfords, this day is about Chance, but it is also about something much bigger.
It is about building the kind of community where families have people beside them, where more people understand Fragile X, and where a simple walk can become the beginning of connection.
Their hope?
That people come to support Chance and leave knowing a little more about Fragile X and perhaps feeling like they have become part of the village too.

For the Bradfords, this walk is about changing that.
Awareness creates understanding.
Understanding creates compassion, inclusion and support.
