Todd Befus
Treasurer
Todd A. Befus, CPA, CA, serves as Treasurer of Fragile X Canada and has worked in public accounting in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, since 2001. He helps privately owned businesses navigate accounting, taxation, and business succession, bringing more than two decades of financial expertise to his board service. Todd also serves on the Board of Directors of Battle River Power Coop, and his previous community leadership includes treasurer roles with the Wetaskiwin Golf Club and Grant Thornton Foundation.
As the father of an adult son with Fragile X syndrome and another son on the autism spectrum, Todd brings a personal understanding of the opportunities and challenges families encounter. His commitment extends beyond financial stewardship to hands-on fundraising and building community support, including the Race and Dine for FX fundraiser at Edmonton International Raceway and helping secure corporate sponsorship for Fragile X Canada’s national conference. Through his professional expertise, community connections, and lived experience, Todd is helping build a sustainable organization that advances research, strengthens support, and creates opportunities for individuals and families to thrive.
